This house contains several storylines, but in the language of the New Native house a large volume with its roof above finds its precedent on the venerable tractor shed. Simultaneously, the house contains a linear spine made of concrete that acts as an armature along which all the spaces of the house are attached. All of the water elements (bath, laundry, etc.) are located within this concrete spine and it directs the flow of movement from kitchen to living room to master bedroom along its length from one end of the building to the other.
The living area is a modest 2,450 square feet, which expresses itself toward a wooded wetland and the western sky beyond. Because of this, the intimacy of the room sizes is increased by the openness and daylight that are directed into each space by a series of clustered windows and glass doors that open to the terrace.
